Egis with its partners (altogether called METAV) have been appointed as Network Manager, to work closely with the client in managing the planning, design and construction of 3 new underground metro lines in Tel Aviv. The 3 new metro lines will total 149km and 109 metro stations to serve 24 municipalities. Key figures:

  • Operational in 2034.
  • Estimated 2 million passengers per day will benefit from the new metro network.
  • €50bn estimated cost.
  • Benefits to Tel Aviv: 30% increase in public transport use and €8bn in economic benefits to the local economy.

Job Description

As Rail Systems Coordinator, under the responsibility of the Systems Integration Manager you will be expected to carry out the following tasks:

  • Support, as necessary and serve as system professional manager on behalf of the Owner, to make engineering decisions, accept design proposals or technical solutions, make recommendations, resolve technical clashes, etc., to instruct and monitor the application of the rail systems documentation,
  • Advise the Owner on site condition surveys and/or any other pretender analysis to be undertaken, analyse the results and recommend ways of adapting Programme requirements accordingly,
  • Deep knowledge and practice in interfacing, integration and test and commissioning across the various system disciplines and the external actors and systems,
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (civil work, fire services, supervision, …), not only for technical issue, but also to respect regulations, municipality requirements, to get the approval on solutions,

Profile

  • Senior engineer with a minimum 10 years experience in major infrastructure / transportation projects including mass transit / metro.
  • Sound knowledge in technical, organizational and processes of railway systems (power supply, rolling stock, track, platform screen doors, signalling and train control, depot equipment, digital & communication, …) engineering under similar large metro projects,
  • Ability to lead and direct project teams, coordinate with others, control time and application of contract, convey good practices and report to management,
  • Ability to analyse complex situations and propose solution to interface with others for the benefit of the Network as whole,
  • Capacity and authority to anticipate, make substantiate choices and recommendations, manage and interact with stakeholders, the Owner and any Programme participants,
