The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.
This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney.
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint MEP Electrical Engineer.
Position Summary
As an Electrical Engineer you will assist in providing project solutions for high/low voltage and communication infrastructure. Reporting to the Electrical Senior project Engineer. This position will support the team to coordinate design, construction and commissioning activities, lead and manage engineering and electrical staff and contractors, plant, and equipment to deliver our project outcomes.
Job Description
Key responsibilities
· Supporting the preparation of detailed electrical power and control system designs, including CAD drafting, equipment specification, and project documentation
· Draft SOW and design documentation for suppliers.
· Drive product roadmap & initiatives, and participate in technical design.
· Provide design inputs and reviews of other projects.
· Resolve systematic issues providing short, medium, and long-term solutions.
· To provide the technical support to the Electrical SPE in the coordination meetings with Client and Suppliers and 3rd Parties in general.
· To provide the technical support in the definition of interface related to Electrical systems with Civil Works, Rail Systems, Rolling Stock, O&M, 3rd Parties in general.
· To assist Procurement Team on technical queries during the bidding stage. To provide proper feedback for technical alignment of the quotation from the market.
· To follow up S/c and Manufacturers in the preparation and review of Material Submittal.
· To follow up S/c and Manufacturers in the preparation and review of Working Drawings.
· To follow up S/c in the preparation and review of DCR, FCR, NCR.
· To follow up S/c and Manufacturers in the preparation and review of Test Procedures and Plan.
· To provide the technical support in troubleshooting and problem-solving during T&C.
· Providing support on planning the use of materials, resources, components or systems within the project to ensure project success, value for money and best practice are achieved
· Coordinating resource allocation with the expectation that you would encourage effective teamwork and foster a positive attitude toward the achievement of organisational objectives
· Interfacing regularly with our internal discipline leads and design teams
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
· Masters Degree (Engineering) in Electrical Engineering
Minimum Experience
· 0-2 years in Electrical systems
· Good knowledge of national (AS/NZ) and international standard (IEC, NFPA).
· Good knowledge of national and overseas market of Electrical Product Manufacturers and Sub Contractors.
· Good knowledge of the subject related to the interface with Civil Works, permanent way, mechanical and hydraulic systems.

· Basics knowledge of Electrical system in Metro/Railway environment

HV/LV Substations
Earthing systems
LV distribution system (panels, cable ways)
Lighting systems
Small Power systems
ELV systems
PV systems
Communications systems
· The ability to cooperate with others, within and outside the team, establishing and efficient work relationship and fluid communication that will contribute to then achievement of objectives.
· Competent in planning and organising work schedules.
· Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same
· Knowledge of Microsoft Suites
